Vice-President
Al Lauterborn |
I am chairman of the Chute Pond Lake District #1. I’ve been in that position for 9 years. I’m also supervisor of the town of Mountain. I have a loving wife Joann, amazing grandchildren such as my grandchild Jonny.
About your business: It’s a lake district protection. My duty is to organize and run the meetings. I also organize work crews. I also have a duty to manage any problems on the lake.
Why you live in Mountain: I was voted in as chairman and had to support for my loving family.
It is important that we promote the town of Mountain and show how wonderful a place it is to live.
I was vice president of the snowmobile club for 2 years. I am also the vice president of MABA. I helped hold the drag races. I also helped with the town of mountain parade. I helped with the Fish-o-Ree. I have helped with the duck races. |
Secretary

Married to Michael, we moved to Mountain as “weekenders” in 1992, then permanently in 2002 when I retired. I originally joined MABA representing the Mountain Cross-Country Ski Club which has since disbanded. I offered to do the website, and took over as Secretary and Newsletter Editor when Ashley Hull returned to school.
We retired here because this is where we have been coming for many years to “play” (ski, snowshoe, hike, bike, paddle). I have been hosting a casual group called “Paddling Friends” since 2005, paddling on lakes and rivers in the area.
I believe that Mountain is a vibrant community, and we need to band together to attract visitors to our area and businesses. I hope we can continue to make Mountain appear more prosperous. |

I moved to Mountain shortly after high school graduation and just never left! I enjoy working the events we hold. I am also a member of the Crooked Lake/Mountain Lions Club and the Mountain Fire Dept. Auxillary.
I work at Wells Fargo Bank and represent them in MABA as well as running Wirth's Produce and Wirth Warehousing with my husband, David. I live here 'cuz my husband was here.
I belong to the business association because the only way to get things going is by working together with other businesses. Mountain had pretty much come to a stand still for a while, but seems to be growing again.

Board Members |
Tony Uecke |
I am married to Kathleen McKee and together we have two small children, Liam and Ainsley.
My side business is Fleur-de -Lis Fishing Rods. I build custom Fishing rods and also do rod repair (but I am not a miracle worker!)
I moved into this area about 17 years ago and was employed by the US Forest Service and the YMCA Camp U-Nah-Li-Ya until the children came along. Now I am a stay at home dad. Although, you may see me here and there doing some bartending and chefing. It is the forest that originally drew me to this area, and I find that most folks here are generally pleasant.
I believe that people should be involved in some way. I also believe that groups have an important role in creating and fostering a better sense of community, increased civic action, and higher quality of living. These may mean different things to different people. But our differences, and our ability to try and work through those differences, are what makes us a stronger and better community.
I have held a term as Vice President, and am currently a Board Member. I am also involved with the Mountain Volunteer Fire Department and continue to volunteer at the Y Camp and as a DNR Angler Education Instructor. |

I was born and raised in Mountain and have lived here all my life. I am married to Karen. I like to keep busy and that includes volunteering for numerous events in the area. I am also the Assistant Chief for the Mountain Fire Dept.
I took over running the farm when my father retired and love being my own boss. I took over the vegetable farm and pretty much run it myself, hiring some help at harvest time. I also built Wirth Warehousing in the Mountain Business Park.
We all have to work together to get ahead, especially in a small community. |

I am married to Evelyn, am retired, and engaged in Tree Farming on our farm.
We live in Mountain because of a long time past family association with the area, coupled with our ownership of Tree Farm property.
I have been selected to be the Mountain Historical Society Representative to the MABA and was just recently "drafted" to be a Board Member for the MABA.
While extra activities can become burdensome, it is important to share with community your talents where possible for the good of our wonderful part of Wisconsin.
Just last Memorial Day I participated on my first association's committee and quickly learned how hundreds of hamburgers and brats are cooked. I am looking ahead to work with the members at the July 4th Celebration. |
